Foundation skills in drawing and the value of line, shape, and shading are the building blocks of each small group class.
Techniques and exploration in various painting mediums, such as acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. Classes will vary based on skill level but will explore still life, landscape, and abstract painting.
Beyond the Basics is dedicated to fostering artist exploration and art history introductions. Each lesson will have an artist or style highlight, with an emphasis on art from members of underrepresented communities when possible.
We are always encouraging creativity and problem-solving in art. There are no mistakes in these classes! (It's a rule!) Every "mistake" is a creative opportunity for something unexpected!
Emphasizing the diverse and colorful nature of artistic expression, every style, skill level, and creative idea is celebrated. Diversity in life and art is what makes this world beautiful!
